堀越千秋
1948年東京都生まれ。
東京芸術大学大学院油画科専攻終了後、ヨーロッパ各地を放浪。
1976年スペイン政府給費留学生としてマドリッドに定住する。
マドリッドを中心に世界各地で活動を続ける堀越は、「
「武満徹全集(小学館)」の装画で経済通産大臣賞。
著書に「フラメンコ狂日記」、「絵に描けないスペイン」「
2014年、スペイン政府より文民功労賞を受賞。
2016年、マドリッドにて死去。
Chiaki Horikoshi
Born in 1948, Tokyo.
After graduating with a major in oil painting from Tokyo University of the Arts, Chiaki went traveling around Europe.
Settled in Madrid in 1976 as an exchange student sponsored by the Spanish government.
Chiaki continued his activities around the world with Madrid at the center: “Spain is an artistic nation where everyone has the energy of Picasso, short temper, and roughness”. Based on his empathy with Spain, he has produced dynamic and wide-ranging works in various fields such as paintings, sculptures, murals, cante (flamenco songs) and essays.
Received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize for “Takemitsu Toru Complete Works (Shogakukan)”. Elected as the Japanese representative for “most beautiful book in the world” at Leipzig. Also known for the covers of ANA’s inflight magazines “Tsubasa no oukoku”.
He deepened his friendship with the prestigious family of cante Agujetas and performed cante (flamenco songs), appearing at the Fuji Rock Festival in 2004.
Chiaki also published many books such as “Flamenco kyou nikki”,”E ni egakenai Spain”, Akatsuchi-iro no Spain” and “Bi o mite shine”.
2014, received a civilian award for distinguished service from the Spanish government.
2016, passed away in Madrid.
